1 More Day...to be Known
It fascinates me that after googling an item, that item soon appears everywhere on my social media sites. For example, a couple of weeks ago I was checking out faux foam wood beams. I began searching the internet. And since that time, I have had ads pop up on my Facebook page about faux foam beams. Even Pinterest is filling my pages with how tos to make my own faux foam beams. That's not really a common household item.
Don't get me wrong. I appreciate the help. But it makes me wonder how a computer can know me so well. I know - I know - there are all types of algorithms and such to show what I "like", sites I visit, etc. but I am reminded that I serve a God who knows me way better than that.
Isn't that what we all desire...to be known? We want people to remember our name; spouses to know what to buy for our birthday; children to know how much we do for them; employers to recognize our efforts; people to know our likes and dislikes, our interests and such.
Psalm 139:1-4 Lord, you have examined me and know all about me. You know when I sit down and when I get up. You know my thoughts before I think them. You know where I go and where I lie down. You know everything I do. Lord, even before I say a word, you already know it.
What a beautiful thought. We serve a big God who has the whole world in His hands. Yet He also knows AND cares about every detail of our lives. I don't know about you, but that makes me feel pretty special.
